In general, the work consists of: performing exterior masonry repairs consisting of tuckpointing approximately 5,000 linear feet of masonry joints and replacing approximately 200 bricks. Perform exterior masonry repairs. Clean, repair, recoat and caulk existing steel tension bands. Clean, repair, and recoat existing exterior ladder and exterior platform handrails, grating, and support framing. Caulk cracks in foundation, concrete cap, existing water table cap above the exterior breeching offset and access door offset. Recoat cleanout door and door frame. Place44 new heat-resistant insulation to fill existing gaps at breeching inlet. Check mechanical continuity of air leads down through lightning protection to ground. Apply Siloxane Water Proofing to the exterior masonry after repairs finished. Inspect chimney interior per specifications. This a radial brick chimney with a current height of 150'. The 2017-2019 Wisconsin State Budget (2017 Wisconsin Act 59) repealed Wisconsin's prevailing wage laws. Effective September 23, 2017, state prevailing wage requirements on state building projects no longer apply. These changes take effect for projects advertised for bid after September 23, 2017. This change does not affect the Federal Davis Bacon Act requirements. A formal pre-bid tour will not be conducted for this project; however, a site visit is encouraged.
