Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of LaPorte County, Indiana will receive sealed bids) for furnishing and delivering the following list of items requisitioned by the LaPorte County Highway Superintendent for repair and maintenance of the LaPorte County Highway system roads, bridges and equipment to be used in the year 2023. All bids must be time stamped in order to be accepted. Bids received after the designated time will be returned unopened. Annual bids will be received for the following materials, supplies, and/or services: Class 1 (Crushed Limestone), Class 2 (Bituminous Patching/Rap Materials), Class 3 (Blast Furnace Slag), Class 4 (Gravel, Black Dirt and Top Soil), Class 5 (E-85, No-Lead and Diesel Motor Fuel), Class 6 (Signs and Sign Posts), Class 7 (Culverts and Guardrail). Bidders shall supply samples as required in the specifications. All bids must be in compliance with provisions of Chapter 156, Acts of 1935 and other provisions of the statues covering the purchase of supplies and materials by the Board of Commissioners and their power to contract thereof. No bid will be accepted or considered by the Board of Commissioners differing from the exact specifications by the board. The bidder shall affirm that they are an Equal Opportunity Employer. Each bidder shall, as a guarantee of good faith, submit a bid bond or certified check, in the amount stated on the specifications, made payable to the Treasurer of LaPorte County. If the bid is made for labor, or application of materials, the Contractor shall furnish a bond for double the amount of their bid. All bids involving labor must comply with the labor laws of Chapter 319, Acts of 1935. No contract shall be awarded unless the statutes are complied with. Discounts or rebates to be allowed on items in any class shall appear in each price quoted and made a party thereof. Said prices shall include all taxes of every kind and/or character where payable by the county. All bid prices quoted must be firm and net for the year, except as otherwise specified. The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to accept the one bid which, in its judgment, will be in the best interest of LaPorte County, Indiana. The Board of Commissioners also reserves the right to re-advertise and rebid.
