** As of December 9, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on December 13, 2022.** Tar and Gravel Roofing System. Lincoln County Schools is accepting bids to replace the existing tar and gravel roofing system located at S. Ray Lowder Elementary School, 350 Kennedy Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Remove the existing tar and gravel roof along with 1/2 " perlite and 1" ISO insulation, leaving the existing smooth surface asphalt roof in place. Remove all existing perimeter edge metal flashing and discard. Haul all trash and debris to landfill. Install one layer of 1/2 " HD ISO insulation board over the existing smooth surface asphalt roof using insulation foam adhesive. Install .060 White TPO membrane using the fully adhered method of application. All existing roof penetrations flashed into the new roof system. Install all new retro-fit roof drain inserts. At the perimeter roof edges install new treated wood nailers over the top of the masonry brick wall to equal height of the existing wood nailers. Install new 24-gallon pre-finished gravel stop perimeter edge metal (ensuring all existing and newly installed wood nailers are covered) and flash into the new TPO roof. (Color by Owner) Install new 24-gallon pre-finished expansion joint metal. 2 Year Contractor Warranty 20 Year Manufacturer's Warranty Remove the tar and gravel roof and insulation down to the metal decking and haul away all trash and debris. Install one layer of 1 1/2" ISO insulation over the metal deck using insulation foam adhesive. Install .060 White TPO membrane fully adhered method of application. Install new 24 ga. pre-finished gravel stop perimeter edge metal and flashed into the new TPO roof (color by owner). At the front canopy remove the 1 1/2 " roof drain inserts (3 ea.) and the piping system under the canopy and discard. Install 3 ea. new 3" PVC roof drains along with 3" PVC piping to be routed under the canopy to the lower front end of the canopy and down column. At the back lower canopy, install one 4" roof drain insert and one 24 ga. pre-finished downspout down the wall to the ground. Bids that do not contain all of the required information will not be considered during the bid opening. All bids should include the following.
