JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide a detailed bid to furnish all labor, material and equipment to remove, rebuild, and reinstall the north intermediate service pump, with an alternate to rebuild the south intermediate transfer pump, located at the City of Port Huron's Water Filtration Plant. The pumps are each 14,000 gallon per minute (gpm) Peerless Pumps. Work includes, but may not be limited to, removing the pump(s) and transporting for disassembling, inspecting, replacing parts as required, painting and balancing, etc. for a complete rebuild and installation per project documents and specifications. This request includes a lump sum cost proposal with an alternate. A certified check payable to the City of Port Huron, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid. No bid may be withdrawn for at least ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. All bids must be submitted on bid forms provided by the City of Port Huron via MITN for that purpose. The City of Port Huron reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any defects or irregularities in the bid, and to accept any bid which is deemed most advantageous to the said City's interests, including awarding to a non-lowest bidder. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, labor and materials bonds, maintenance and guarantee bonds, and insurance certificates. All bidders are required to qualify according to the bidder qualification regulations for contractors bidding on City of Port Huron contracts as set forth in the instruction to bidders.
