The project is for a new 94,775 square foot South County Service Center providing a consolidation of multiple County of Santa Cruz departments and allowing for numerous County services to be offered to the public in one convenient location. Renovation of the existing office/warehouse spaces to include two new lobbies, client meeting rooms, public resource rooms, and build-out of County staff work and training areas. Project scope includes, but is not limited to: modifications to existing exterior and interior walls; new lobby and office build-out; renovation of existing restrooms; compliance with current life safety codes; ceiling and finishes; modifications to building systems (HVAC, electrical, lighting); and exterior accessibility upgrades. Scope of work includes new lobbies, service counters and classroom spaces, upgrades to existing restrooms and pantries, and other office support spaces. Minor exterior work includes new accessible ADA path of travel and a new entrance opening. Parking lot is existing to remain with no new spaces. Seismic upgrades are under a separate permit with construction scheduled to be completed by February 2023.
