The New Trier Township High School District 203 Board of Education is accepting bids only from roofing contractors for a roof replacement project at their high school in Winnetka, Illinois. The roofing contractor will act as the project general contractor. Bids will not be accepted from firms other than dedicated roofing contractors. The scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, accessories, engineering, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: selective demolition, metal fabrications, miscellaneous rough carpentry, preparation for reroofing, thermal insulation, ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) roofing, sheet metal flashing and trim, roof specialties, and joint sealants. The work site is New Trier Township High School, the Winnetka Campus, 385 Winnetka Avenue, Winnetka, IL 60093. On-site construction work is scheduled to commence during the 2023 summer break on Monday, June 12, 2023. The Contractor must achieve Substantial Completion for all work on or before Friday, August 11, 2023. Liquidated damages will apply to the Substantial Completion date. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid amount. The successful Bidder must furnish One Hundred Percent (100%) performance and labor and material payment bonds for the full amount of the Contract Sum including any accepted alternate bids. A project labor agreement (PLA) is in place for the project. The Contractor must pay union wages for all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing the work under this contract. The PLA will, among other things, govern the use of trade labor for the project. All prime contractors and subcontractors performing work will be required to become signatory to the PLA and bound by its terms. The New Trier Township High School District 203 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
