Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a municipal facility in San Luis Obispo, California. Design plans call for the construction of a 145,000-square-foot municipal facility.
The Superior Court of California, County of San Luis Obispo - New San Luis Obispo Courthouse project provides a new 12-courtroom courthouse of 145,000 square feet in the city of San Luis Obispo. It includes secured parking for judicial officers. The project will require acquisition of a site of approximately 2.5 acres. It will replace/consolidate the court’s operations and courtrooms currently in three existing San Luis Obispo facilities: San Luis Obispo Courthouse Annex (at 1050 Monterey Street) and two offsite staff office locations. The project will use the Design-build delivery method. As of August 26, 2026, an architect has been selected, and the project is in the Acquisition phase. A design/build firm has not been selected. Construction is estimated to begin in March 2029 and complete in November 2031.
