Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Eugene, Oregon. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The Eugene City Council has referred a $61.2 million bond to the November 8, 2022 ballot. As of June 27, 2023, the bond vote passed. Projects are slated for construction between 2025-2029. The draft project list will be shared with the community for feedback before going to the Eugene City Council for approval by November 1, 2023. Per owner, the city generally designs and oversees projects in-house and will contract with consultants based on need. Fund 42 street projects that would repair 44.6 lane miles of roads throughout the city. Designate $15 million for walking, biking and safety improvements (projects could include bike lanes, crosswalks and off-street paths, pedestrian bridges and other capital projects) and street tree projects. Cost a homeowner $0.63 per $1000 of assessed property value. For an average home assessed at $267,531 this would add approximately $169 per year (approx. $14 per month) in property tax. Require an auditor and citizen panel to evaluate projects (annual reports on project costs and results are posted to the City of Eugene web site for public review).
