This project is generally described as a multi-story building that includes food courts, office spaces, a cinema, and library, centered around a main atrium. Project work generally includes replacement of the existing central station air handling units and associated smoke control systems, primarily located in the building's rooftop penthouse. The new atrium smoke control system will be independent of systems used for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning. The project will be completed in phases to accommodate continuous occupancy throughout construction. Owner reserves the right to respond to any questions received after the date as indicated in the Invitation for Bid. Responses to bidders' questions will be issued by Addendum on Monday, 28 November 2022. It is the policy of George Mason University to contribute to the establishment, preservation, and strengthening of small, women and minority owned businesses (SWaM), as certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD), and to encourage their participation in Mason's procurement activities.
