SSP Community Center Roof Replacement The work will occur on the community center located within Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida. The project consists of replacing the entire roof and, in the process, transitioning the tile roof system portion to a metal standing seam roof. We are not requiring a bid bond but do require performance and payment bonds in the amount equal to 100% of the bid amount. In addition, insurance requirements are outlined in the bid documents. The selected contractor will need to meet these insurance requirements so please be sure to review them and make sure you are willing to obtain the required insurance and bonds. Also note that we understand lead times for roofing materials are substantial right now. We are prepared for that this is not an emergency replacement but a preventative maintenance replacement. Please note this portion of the bid documents: Contractors shall present a proposed work schedule as part of the bid packet. The timeline should identify the timeframe from physical work beginning until completion (beginning and end dates are not critical with the bid packet but a timeline showing the amount of time each part of the work will take is required). When a fully signed contract between the contractor and District is executed and proof of insurance and bonds are presented to the district, a preliminary Notice to Proceed will be granted. With the preliminary Notice to Proceed, the contractor may begin the permitting process and ordering of any material, supplies or equipment that will be needed. Physical site work may not begin until city permits are obtained, a Notice of Commencement is filed with Palm Beach County and a Notice to Proceed is issued by the district. Once permits are received and materials are ordered the contractor will need to provide a timeline with start and end dates for the physical project.
