A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Bid date changed to November 30, 2022, 1pm The scope of work includes providing all labor, tools, equipment, materials and supervision necessary to complete the work at Downes Manor as follows: 1. Miscellaneous electrical upgrades and A/C associated with elevator modernization. 2. Replace site and exterior building lighting. 3. Replace perimeter fencing and pedestrian and vehicular access gates. 4. Replace exterior and interior security cameras, controls and monitoring equipment. 5. Replace all corridor and common area lighting. 6. Replace roof membrane, insulation and metal trims. 7. Replace makeup air unit (MUA). Location- 13725 John R Street Highland Park, Michigan 48203 Each bidder shall make a careful examination of the plans and specifications, visit the site of the proposed construction and acquaint himself with all the conditions before submitting his proposal. He will be held responsible for any and all errors in his proposal resulting from his failure to make such examination. No "Request for Extras" will be entertained as a result of the bidder failing to examine the plans and specifications and inspecting the site. Any discrepancies between actual field conditions and work specified in contract documents shall be brought to the written attention of the Architect prior to bidding. The Contractor shall be responsible to verify all conditions and dimensions and be responsible for this work conforming to existing conditions. Bids must include a bid guarantee made payable to the Housing Commission. Bid guarantees will be returned within 10 days of official bid opening, if requested, except for three (3) selected qualified bidders. The unsuccessful bidders will have their bid guarantee returned after award of the contract, if requested. The successful bidder must be fully insured and provide an assurance as required by the Instructions to Bidders. Additional bid requirements are outlined in Section 00210 SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. All contractors and subcontractors must be in compliance with: Equal Opportunity Employment, Executive Order 11246 and Davis-Bacon wage rates as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor and adopted by the Housing Commission and as set forth in the Project Manual. Submission of U.S. Dept. of Labor payroll forms is required on a weekly basis. Contractors and subcontractors will commit themselves to making a good faith effort to meet the 10% goal of employing minorities and 6.9% goal of employing women. This public funded project is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. The contractor shall appoint a company executive to assume the responsibility for the implementation at all requirements, terms and conditions. The Highland Park Housing Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to award the contract to the lowest, responsible and most responsive bidder and to waive any formalities or irregularities in the bids received. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days subsequent to the opening of the bids without the consent of the Housing Commission. The Housing Commission reserves the right to award a contract in the best interest to the Housing Commission. Furthermore, the Owner encourages Minority Business Enterprises and Women-Owned Businesses to submit a proposal for this project.
