Renovation of a water / sewer project in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

This Project will consist of a single contract for the demolition and removal of both the existing primary and secondary digester cover and the reinstallation of compatible replacement equipment.The Specifications and Drawings may be examined at the Owners office or the office of the engineer. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid. The Bid Security shall be made payable to the Shamokin-Coal Township Joint Sewer Authority. All Bid Bonds must be accompanied by a Power of Attorney or suitable letter of commitment from a licensed surety company as described in the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. The contract for work under this Bid will obligate the contractor, and any Subcontractors, to comply with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act and any other such Federal and State requirements presented in the bid documents. The apparent low bidder shall submit Contract Bonds in the forms prescribed in the Specifications prior to receiving an award in accordance with Public Works Contractor's Bond Law of 1967 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Bidders must, if requested, submit a compliance report concerning their employment practices and policies in order to maintain their eligibility to receive the award of the contract. The Owner shall award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder or reject all bids within sixty-five (65) days from the date of the bid opening; and no bidder may withdraw his bid before the expiration of such 65-day period; provided however that if the award is delayed by the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds, or the award of a grant or grants, the Owner shall reject all bids or award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder within 120 days from the date of the bid opening, and no bidder may withdraw his bid prior to the expiration of such 120-day period Thirty (30) day extensions of the date for the award may be made by the mutual written consent of the Owner and the lowest responsible bidder. The Owner reserves the right, at its option, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, irregularities, defects, errors or omissions in any or all Bid Proposals, as the Owner may deem in its own discretion to be in its best interest The Work will be substantially completed within 500 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 2.03 of the General Conditions, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 14.07 of the General Conditions within 60 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run.
