Public Affairs Cab #178 Hydraulic Elevator Modernization & Cylinder Replacement: Provide a new elevator control system, door components, fixtures, and hydraulic jack unit in Public Affairs Cab 178 complete in accordance with ASME A17.1 2004 elevator safety code as modified by, or in addition to CA Title VIII code. The estimated construction cost is $200,000.00. Law Building Cab#162 Hydraulic Elevator Modernization & Cylinder Replacement: Provide a new elevator control system, door components, fixtures, and hydraulic jack unit in Law Building Cab 162 complete in accordance with ASME A17.1 2004 elevator safety code as modified by, or in addition to CA Title VIII code. The estimated construction cost is $200,000.00. The University currently anticipates the two projects to run sequentially with the work of the Law Building being fully completed prior to the start of the work in the Public Affairs Building. However, the Awarded Contractor, after award of Contract, may request to perform the work of both projects concurrently and if approved by the University Representative, will be issued the Notice to Proceed for each project concurrently. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: C-11 License (Elevator) COMBINED BIDS: The Work of this Contract has been divided into (2) bid projects, as specified in the Bidding Documents. Separate lump sum base bids are requested for each of the bid projects. University will determine the low bidder on the basis of the combined lump sum bid plus other factors specified in Article 6.3.3 of the Instructions to Bidders. University and the apparent lowest responsible bidder will sign a separate Agreement for each project. Unless specified otherwise, all requirements of the Contract Documents shall apply separately to each individual project. Contractor shall make all submittals including, without limitation, Payment and Performance Bonds, Certificates of Insurance, Project Cost Breakdowns, Schedules, Applications for Payment and Certified Payrolls separately for each of the projects. Contractor is only required to furnish the services of a single Superintendent to oversee and administer all projects; however, refer to Division 1 for additional staffing requirements. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.
