CONTRACT NO. T-114.00R001-3-02 - SHOULDER AND SLOPE REHABILITATION BETWEEN MILEPOST 114.20 AND MILEPOST 120.20 IN SOMERSET COUNTY This project provides for the resurfacing of the Turnpike eastbound and westbound outside shoulders. Work will also include shoulder reconstruction, guide rail replacement, drainage channel reconstruction, replacement of inlets, replace slope pipes, pipe extensions, side slope repair, regrading, access ramp sealing, rock armor, rock blanket and maintenance and protection of traffic. Milepost 114.20 is located approximately 4.02 miles East of the Somerset Interchange, Exit 110, and Milepost 120.20 is located approximately 25.80 miles West of the Bedford Interchange, Exit 146, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
