Any addendums and answers to questions will be posted on the District website on the date specified under Schedule in the Special Conditions section of the bid documents. Bids must be submitted on the Bid form provided by the District and included in the bid documents. Each bid must strictly conform with and be responsive to this Notice Calling for Bids, the Information for Bidders, and other Contract Documents. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Except as provided in Public Contract Code Section 5100 et seq. no bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the opening of the bids. In contracts involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000.00, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety approved to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District in the form set forth in the contract documents. Senate Bill (SB) 854 Requirements: No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid proposed only under Labor Code section 1771.1 (a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Prime contractors must add the DIR Registration Number for each of their listed subcontractors to the Designation of Subcontractors list AND submit a certification of registration for their own firm and those of their listed subcontractors upon request by the District. Failure of the bidding prime contractor to list their subcontractors DIR registration Number on the Designation of Subcontractors list at the time of bid will result in rejection of their bid as non-responsive It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract. The class of California contractors license(s) required in order to bid on and perform the contract for this Project is: C-33, Painting. The District may have made a finding that certain brand or trade names are necessary in order to maintain conformity among its campuses, compatibility with existing systems and to streamline maintenance and parts storage. Work will be performed from December 14, 2022 to March 31, 2023. The successful bidder will be required to provide both a performance bond and a separate payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount. The forms of the bonds are set forth in the Contract Documents and all bonds must be issued by a Californiaadmitted surety as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120.
