New construction of a pre-engineered storage facility in Napanee, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 8,694-square-foot, one-story above grade pre-engineered storage facility.

The purpose of this RFP Document is to preselect a supplier for a pre-fabricated steel maintenance garage at the Napanee WPCP, in Ontario. The following is a general but not necessarily complete description of the works to be supplied for this RFP. Technical specifications documenting the mandatory technical requirements are provided in Appendix E of RFP 2022-13 (attached): The scope for the prefabricated steel maintenance garage at the Napanee WPCP includes the design and the supply of the following: - Structural steel framing and connections, including columns, beams, bracing, purlins, girts, secondary steel framing, etc., - Column anchorage to foundations, - All building envelope components, including insulated metal panel walls, insulated roof panels, trim, flashing and accessories, - All required connects for the building envelope system, - Priming, painting and/or coating of all items listed above, - Any other items related to structural support and weathertightness of the prefabricated building. The scope of work does not include the design of the following items: - Concrete foundations, - Interior non-load bearing walls and ceilings, - Partition walls and ceiling finishes, - Exterior brick veneer, - Electrical, mechanical and plumbing utilities. Proposals will be examined to pre-select building supplier for inclusion in the general contract for the construction of the proposed works as per the General Terms and Conditions (Appendix B). Shop drawings may be purchased by the client from the selected equipment suppliers to facilitate the maintenance garage design. Once the shop drawings have been received and deemed satisfactory by the Engineer, the Town will provide payment for the shop drawings at the price quoted in the form of proposal completed by the equipment supplier. For all systems, the Town will not be purchasing the building components directly. The building components will be purchased by the General Contractor or one of the sub-contractors through a general contract. A supplier may bid on the building system described in the specification. This section summarizes the structural design approach for the new maintenance garage at the Napanee WPCP. It outlines the high-level requirements for the structural design and demonstrates how the proposed design meets these requirements. The maintenance garage will service the Napanee WPCP, and will house a maintenance bay, workshop, mechanical room, lunch room, locker rooms, washrooms, laundry room, and office spaces. The building will be a pre-fabricated steel frame structure on a cast-in-place concrete foundation with strip/pad footings supporting the building structure and a slab on grade floor system. The building is a single storey with an approximate plan dimension of 35m x 23m. The gable roof has an approximate eaves height of 5.0m with a ridge height of 7.0m. The maintenance garage will have five roll-up doors for vehicle access, and four personnel doors. The offices, lunch room and garage will have windows. The superstructure will utilize steel bracing to resist lateral loads in the both directions. The façade will be full-height insulated metal panels, and the bottom portion of the wall will have a brick veneer tied to the metal panels. The roof will utilize an insulated metal panels over structural steel framing.
