The City of Fontana is seeking proposals from interested and qualified interior design and architectural firms to provide professional services in performing design, material procurement, and installation/construction of improvements for the renovation of the Center Stage Theater located at 8463 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335. The Center Stage Theater was originally built in 1937 as a one-screen movie theater. The more than 13,000 square foot theater was designed by Carl H. Boller, one of the best-known theatrical architects of that time. After the movie theater closed during the 1950's, the facility was used for various purposes prior to its acquisition by the City in 2003. The City wishes to engage in a contractual relationship with the best qualified interior design and architectural firm selected through a competitive process that will work well with City staff in providing a design that is befitting the objectives of the City and branding consultant. The Interior Designer/Architect's overall responsibility and scope of work is to prepare construction drawings, bid specifications, and construction cost estimates for the project, as well as attend various meetings with City Staff. Additionally, they will be in charge of providing the construction services, and procuring the materials, necessary to make the interior upgrades.
