MnDOT requests responses for professional, technical assistance to develop a framework document that supports the State's planning efforts over the next 20 years in managing the bridge condition needs of the Interstate 90 (I-90) corridor in MnDOT District 6 with consideration to life cycle cost and minimizing traffic disruption. The I-90 corridor in District 6 was constructed between 1961 and 1975. There are 57 bridges and 22 bridge culverts that carry I-90 traffic, which were constructed between 1957 and 2020. Additionally, there are 42 bridges that span over I-90, which were constructed between 1959 and 2021. Of these 121 structures (as of 2022), 99 were originally constructed at least 50 years ago. This aging infrastructure presents the potential for a large investment in a short timeframe to meeting bridge condition targets and avoid service interruptions along this corridor The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
