DESCRIPTION: The FAR Part 77 Obstruction project at Sugar Land Regional Airport includes the removal of various tree species across 6.7 acres of land located in Cullinan Park--immediately north of the flight path of Runway 17 at Sugar Land Regional Airport (SGR). The project will result in the removal and offsite disposal of approximately 520 existing trees and includes removal of the tree stumps to a minimum of 18 below existing grade to ensure Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance with the safe navigation of aeronautical airspace. The Contractor will be responsible for the disposal of all waste generated from tree removal activities. The City shall have first right to all wood accumulated and any reasonable request to place wood at a convenient location shall be honored. Questions regarding this bid must be received by the City of Sugar Land's Purchasing Office no later than 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Questions will not be accepted after this time. Please direct all questions regarding this bid to: City of Sugar Land Purchasing Jason Poscovsky, CPPO, CPPB E-mail: jposcovsky@sugarlandtx.gov The Bidders must submit an original Bid Bond with their Bids in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the Bid, inclusive of any Bid alternates, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into the Contract and execute the Performance and Payment Bonds as required after the Contract is approved by the City's City Council. Bidders must use the Bid Bond form provided by the City in the Request for Bids. The Surety must be authorized to write surety bonds in the State of Texas. The City will return the Bid Bonds within 15 days after opening the Bids except those of the three lowest responsible Bidders, the Bids of which will be held until the successful Bidder has executed the Contract and provided an executed Performance Bond and Payment Bond. Performance Bond: A performance bond in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the largest total for the bid submitted will be required. Payment Bond: A payment bond in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the largest total for the bid submitted will be required.
