Renovation of a water / sewer project in Rockford, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Proposals must be enclosed in a sealed envelope and marked with the name of the RFP, and the RFP number. Each vendor shall submit with their proposal the information specified in the bid documents for compliance with the laws of the State of Illinois on Fair Employment Practices and with the City of Rockford's Ordinance on Equal Employment and Business Opportunity. Any proposal which fails to include the compliance items properly completed will not be read and will not be considered. The City of Rockford reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and to waive technicalities. QA deadline -9 Nov 2022 The City of Rockford Water Division is currently looking to install temporary treatment at the location of Well No. 9 at 305 James Avenue in Rockford. The existing raw water at this site is treated with chlorine, fluoride, and polyphosphate before being pumped into the distribution system. Recent water quality testing for this site has shown elevated levels of manganese, so a temporary treatment system with filtration is being installed until a full-scale water treatment facility can be afforded. The existing well house is planned to be retrofitted to accommodate this temporary treatment equipment. The City is planning to install vertical pressure filters with pyrolucite media to remove said manganese. They will continue to treat the water with chlorine, fluoride, and polyphosphate after filtration is complete. Design engineering for the Well 9 Temporary Treatment project has been completed. The City of Rockford Water Division is seeking to retain the services of a qualified treatment manufacturer who can provide a temporary treatment solution that can be installed and operated for an estimated operation period of five (5) years with the option to increase said timeline at a later date. The company would be required to mobilize and install the equipment as well as demobilize the equipment upon the completion of use by the City. The proposed well site will have the capacity to pump 1,600 GPM through the temporary treatment system to the reservoir. Ultimately, high service booster pumps will pump the treated water to the distribution system.
