Demolition of a Pump House. Location is the North West Corner of Chambers RD and
Washburn RD Caro MI 48723. The following specifications shall be considered in your bid:
Contractor shall be responsible for any needed permits. Will need Demolition and possible soil erosion.
Contractor shall field verify measurements.
Any necessary pumping of water, sewer, or any liquids is the responsibility of the Contractor.
Contractor shall remove above ground structure, including first floor.
Contractor shall remove all equipment, fixtures, pumps, and stairway.
All pipes that enter or exit the building are to be capped off.
Pipes shall be encased in concrete. Concrete must be a minimum of 6 inches below and above the pipes.
Pea Stone shall be used as fill, to bring grade up to allow the pipes to be encased in concrete.
Vertical pipe with float extending through first floor shall be cut off and capped no lower than 6 inches to allow for the necessary concrete.
Contractor shall install pea stone to a height of 12 inches below grade.
Contractor shall install sand on top of pea stone to an 8 inch depth compacted.
Contractor shall then install a 4 inch concrete pad with wire. Pad will cover entire foundation.
Concrete pad shall be back filled around the pad to provide a smooth transition to grade.
Contractor is responsible for cleanup of job site.
All work is to be completed by qualified personnel
Contractor shall be insured and provide copy of liability insurance and workmen's comp.
The debris and or liquids from the project shall be disposed of following Local, State and Federal rules and laws. Please call 989-672-3756 or 989-672-3716 if you have questions. Tuscola County reserves the right at its sole discretion to reject any and all proposals received without penalty and not to enter a contract as a result of this RFP. The County also reserves the right to negotiate separately with any source whatsoever in any manner necessary to attend to the best interests of the County, to waive irregularities in any proposal and to accept a proposal which best meets the needs of the County, irrespective of the bid price." The County reserves the right to make an award without further discussion of any proposal submitted. Therefore, the proposal should be submitted initially on the most favorable terms which the offer can propose. There will be no best and final offer procedure.
