Fairfax County is soliciting pre-bid qualification applications for the construction of the Magarity Road Walkway Project. The project will provide connectivity for residents to community parks, neighborhood pools, schools and transit corridors north & south of project limits. The work includes construction of 2,300 LF of 8' wide asphalt walkway, 300 LF of 5' wide concrete sidewalk, 92 LF of architecturally treated retaining wall, storm pipes and structures, concrete curb and gutter, curb cut ramps, driveway entrances, handrails, relocating and/or adjustments to various aspects of public water line system, installation of electrical conduit and splice box, concrete asphalt paving, pedestrian signalization, pavement marking and roadway signs. The estimated duration for the construction of this project will be 365 calendar days. Anticipated date for the Notice to Proceed for the construction is in Spring 2023. Only firms that have been pre-qualified in accordance with the procedures in this Pre-qualification Application will be eligible to submit bids for this project. The construction cost for this project is estimated to be between $2 million and $4 million. Prequalification application packages may be obtained free of charge commencing on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from the Utilities Design and Construction Division, Department of Public Works & Environmental Services, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fourth Floor, Suite 463, Fairfax, Virginia 22035. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all Applications, and to waive informalities and irregularities in the Pre-qualification Application procedure. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
