Work Location: Harrisonburg Residency Office PURPOSE: The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms t firms to furnish and deliver reinforcing steel to the VDOT Staunton District Office, located at 811 Commerce Road, Staunton, VA 24401, an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in accordance with the specifications contained herein. QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS INVITATION FOR BID: Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Rebecca Smith Coburn at Rebecca.Coburn@VDOT.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than 5:00 PM on November 10, 2022. SCOPE OF WORK: The reinforcing steel for schedules listed in Attachments shall be CRR Class I reinforcing steel and shall conform to the requirements of AASHTO M 344M/M 334-17 - Standard Specification for Uncoated, CorrosionResistant, Deformed and Plain Chromium Alloyed, Billet-Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement and shall conform to the requirements of Section 223 of the Specifications. This reinforcing steel shall be deformed and have a minimum yield stress of 100 ksi. B. SPECIFICATIONS: 1. The Contractor shall furnish and deliver reinforcing steel as shown in Attachment A attached. 2. See Attachments A for design requirements and fabrication details. 3. VDOT will unload the reinforcing steel. 4. Reinforcing steel shall be bundled and clearly tagged with appropriate attachment, project number, and mark as given on the steel schedules.
