This Request for Quotations (the "RFQ") is an invitation by the Corporation of the County of Northumberland (the "County") to prospective respondents to submit non-binding quotations for Renovations to the Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre (OAFVC), as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix D) (the "Deliverables"). The Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre (OAFVC), located in Colborne, Ontario, offers production support to food entrepreneurs and farmers by providing access to safe, clean, food manufacturing spaces and qualified production support staff. The 15,000 sq. ft. facility, located in Colborne, ON, houses industrial equipment for cooking, chilling, freezing, packaging, and labelling, available for producers to rent on a cost-recovery basis along with short-term cold storage space (for both refrigerated and frozen items); meeting and office spaces; and food processing expertise from regional educational institutions and on-site staff. For this project, 7300 square feet of vacant space will be transitioned into a divided space for a farmer's market and additional operational food production space for the OAFVC which currently operates in the facility. Construction for Phase 1 is anticipated to begin in January 2023, with all works to be completed by March 31, 2023.
