Site work for a water / sewer project in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The 2021 Wright-Pierce Water Distribution System Evaluation report identified this segment of Old Rochester Road as a priority water distribution project. The existing 12-inch cement lined ductile iron water main has failed multiple times due to external corrosion of the pipe. Installation of approximately 1,200 feet of new 12-inch HDPE water main throughout the project area will help to improve reliability and reduce water main breaks due to corrosion. This item would fund the engineering design and planning associated with this work, which would then be planned for FY2026. This project is in included in the City of Somersworth FY 2023 - 2028 CIP. As of November 04, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
