Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the construction of a medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.
Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2192 for the classification of Building Construction. Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(5). No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214. No bids will be received after the date and hour specified. The University reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid security in an amount of five percent (5.0%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates. The form of this security shall be as stated in the Instructions to Bidders included in the Bid Documents for this project. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Circular 570. Performance and Payment Bonds required. Workers Compensation and Employers Liability required. General Liability and Automobile Liability insurance required. Builders Risk Insurance Required. Bidder representation at the pre-bid conference shall be by a principal of the prime contractor submitting the bid and/or an individual of the company having authority to make financially binding decisions on behalf of the prime contractor. Contractor shall be present during the entire mandatory pre-bid conference. The Attention of Bidders is called particularly to the requirements for condition of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract, Section 3, Segregated Facilities, Executive Order 11246, and all applicable laws and regulations of the Federal Government and the State of Louisiana and bonding and insurance requirements. The Contractor shall begin mobilization and procurement of materials within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Nicholls State University is a participant in the Small Entrepreneurship (SE) Program (the Hudson Initiative) and the Veteran- Owned and Service-Connected Disabled Veteran-Owned (LaVet) Small Entrepreneurships Program. Bidders are encouraged to consider participation.
