Sarasota Performing Arts Center Foundation, Inc. ("Foundation") and the City of Sarasota ("City"), per an agreement executed on April 18, 2022, are planning a new contemporary performing arts center that will further bolster Sarasota as an engaging cultural destination on Florida's Gulf Coast. The new Sarasota Performing Arts Center ("Project") promises to catalyze a vibrant future for the cultural and civic life of Sarasota. Situated in The Bay Park, the Project will enhance the city's prominence as a civic asset to the region for generations to come. The Project will be funded through philanthropy and public funds. The new Performing Arts Center will be owned by the City of Sarasota and operated by the Foundation. An Architect Selection Task Force will select a Design Architect ("DA") for the Project. The goal of the selection process is to select the architect who is best suited to translate the project's mission, programmatic & technical requirements, and budget into an exceptional design. This is not a search for any specific architectural style or design scheme. This is a search for the architect who proves themselves to be the most capable of completing the project and being a good partner to the Foundation and the City. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
