As of April 11, 2023, the project has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been confirmed. The project involves rehabilitation of stormwater drainline pipes in two separate subdivisions: 1) the Pomaikai III subdivision located in Kahului, and 2) the Wahikuli Houselots subdivision located in Lahaina. The scope of work includes closed-caption television (CCTV) inspection and cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner installation, as well as limited excavation for the partial replacement of an existing corrugated metal drainline and construction of a new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) drainline bypass and associated shallow drain manhole structures. The scope of work also includes pavement restoration; adjustment of manholes and water valves; and other incidental items. To be eligible to bid, bidders must be licensed in accordance with Chapter 444, HRS, relating to the licensing of contractors. Contractors are hereby notified of the applicability of Section 11-205.5, HRS, which states that campaign contributions are prohibited from specified State or County government contractors during the term of the contract if the contractors are paid with funds appropriated by the legislative body. Department of Transportation (Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations Part 21) issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability.
