The project design scope includes: Addressing restroom and plumbing deficiencies, Installing a fire suppression system, Addressing ADA compliance requirements, Upgrading electrical systems to meet current code, Repairing deficiencies in existing flooring, Improving layout and functionality of all public spaces, Replacing most fixed shelving with mobile shelving to improve flow and usability, Relocating/reconfiguring the Children's services, the Adult and Teen sections, public computing, 3D printing and the Memory Lab, Developing a reading room and programming space, Identifying additional options to integrate modern library services, Creating media hotel to work with automated materials handling (AMH) system and Intelligent Media Management System (IMMS), and Evaluating the feasibility of recreating the original entrance to the historic Carnegie wing.
