A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Melbourne desires to expand the Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant, including all necessary associated structural, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, piping, restoration, and SCADA design/programming. The scope of services expected to be required include, are design, permitting, bidding, award, construction administration, and construction inspection services for the improvements to be performed at the City of Melbourne Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant (ROWTP) The improvements will consist of, but may not be limited to: Expansion of brackish groundwater treatment faculties to meet an annual average daily groundwater withdrawal of 12 MGD as defined by SJRWMD consumptive use permit. Project shall include a new brackish water membrane treatment facility with 10 MGD finished water capacity. New building to house the reverse osmosis membrane skids, clearwells, pumps, membrane cleaning systems, electrical motor control centers, generators, chemicals, operations, odor control, SCADA controls, office and storage spaces New generators and electrical switchgear at the Reverse Osmosis Treatment Plant Additional high service pumping facilities New facility shall allow for future expansion to incorporate an additional 5 MGD of finished water treatment capacity. (future) Future expansion capacity is anticipated to replace existing 5 MGD brackish water membrane treatment facilities built in 1995 as recommended in the Water Production Facility Evaluation and Master Plan of 2020. Evaluation of groundwater to surface water blending for corrosion stability and disinfection processes and related design and construction services that may be necessary at the water production facilities to ensure water quality compliance. The primary service being required is professional engineering; therefore, the firm must have an Engineering Certificate of Authorization in the State of Florida.
