Complete removal of all snow and ice from specified sidewalks (see parcel maps, index maps and excel spreadsheets for locations). Services include the removal of snow and/or ice and an application of deicing agent to all surfaces as needed. If less than two (2) inches of snow accumulates and there is a potential hazard, the Contractor shall remove the snow and/or ice and apply an application of a deicing agent. If less than two (2) inches of snow accumulates and the Contractor is requested to perform this work by the PM or the Maintenance Supervisor, the Contractor will be paid for the line items of snow removal for 2 to 6 inches of snow for the corresponding sidewalks. Each sidewalk line item may or may not be asked to be shoveled, plowed or salted. MDOT has the right to request the contractor not to perform services on any one or more of the areas during a snow removal event. The Contractor will only be paid for the parking lots or sidewalks that are requested. If a large snowfall event occurs, MDOT will only pay for the line items of more than six (6) inches of snow. If more than one plowing will be required during a large snowfall event, the PM or the Maintenance Supervisor will request another plowing and that would be paid separately.
