Due to the zero-emissions growth requirement of the bus fleet, MTA will need to expand our Hydrogen Fueling Station. MTA is the recipient of a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) 5339(c) Low or No Emissions grant and funding from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to deploy an additional two (2) New Flyer 40-foot zero-emission, Fuel Cell Electric Buses (FCEB) with supporting hydrogen infrastructure. MTA intends to produce hydrogen on site with an electrolyzer. Since 2012, MTA Flint has been a leader in the adoption of alternative fuel technologies. MTA has invested in converting its fleet from diesel to propane, compressed natural gas, and hydrogen. MTA deployed its first hydrogen bus in 2012 and a second hydrogen bus in 2015. The 2015 Eldorado Fuel Cell bus is still an active bus in MTA's daily fleet. Currently, MTA does have eight (8) retail customers for Hydrogen Fuel. As MTA continues its conversion to a zero emissions fleet, it believes fuel cell electric buses are going to be the most effective choice for Michigan's climate and MTA's route structures and service requirements. MTA is procuring two (2) more FCEBs by 2024 and goal is to have a total of 17 FCEBS by 2028. - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Payment Bond 100 % All Proposers are highly encouraged to attend this Pre-Proposal meeting and sub-contractors are also encouraged to attend. Proposers are also encouraged to attend the following DBE meeting for the opportunity to meet potential DBE subcontractors and to review requirements for accomplishing the 1.37% DBE project participation goal. During this meeting Proposers will be asked to identify possible subcontracting opportunities and be prepared to discuss them with DBE subcontractors. Proposers will be given additional requirements and instructions for this project. Proposers not in attendance shall be held responsible for any requirements discussed at the Pre-Proposal meeting. No allowance or extra compensation concerning any matter or thing about which the Proposer might have fully informed themselves will be allowed.
