This project requires 19% DBE participation, or if the contract goal is not met, documented evidence of good faith efforts. The Complexity Factor for this project is 0. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on February 7, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the Region Five/District Eight Office in Collinsville. Professional services are required to perform a seismic vulnerability study for bridges maintained by the department. The work will include the review of existing plans for single span and multispan bridges maintained by the department which are in, or potentially in Seismic Zone 2, or higher. The review will include using available geotechnical data to verify Seismic Zone. For all bridges determined to be in Zone 2, or higher, relevant design and construction information (superstructure type, substructure type(s), foundation type, available seat widths, liquefaction potential, reinforcement details in plastic hinge zones, etc.) will be collected and entered into a database. Using ShakeCast, or similar software available to the department, simulated earthquakes will be used to assess the vulnerability of the bridges in the study. A final report will include an assessment of the overall system for several levels of seismic events, including the current design level event, as well as the maximum credible event. The completion date for this contract will be 24 months after authorization to proceed. The Prime firm must be prequalified in the Structures (Highways: Advanced Typical) category to be considered for this project. Statements of Interest, including resumes of only the key people noted above, must be submitted electronically to the Central Bureau of Design and Environment through the Engineering Prequalification and Agreement System (EPAS).
