The City has approximately 73 miles of transite pipe water lines to be replaced over a period of years. This project will strategically replace approximately 4.25 miles of transite water line infrastructure in the Park View subdivision and Liberty Dr from Shady Bend to north of City Hall . In addition to the replacement of transite pipe, pressure sensor, all existing 2, 3 and 4-inch water lines will be up-sized with 6 or 8" polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe materials and service lines will also be replaced. Replacing small diameter pipe with current materials meeting City standard line sizes in coordination with the City's water model is expected to provide higher flow capacities for these neighborhoods, resolve dead end water line issues resulting in improved water quality, improve fire protection, and reduce in water loss due to broken lines. This project is included in the city’s fy 2025-2028 Capital Improvement Program.
