As of September 4, 2024, an engineer has been selected for the project. Bidding letting is expected to be administered by KDOT and is expected to take place in early 2025. Bidding is estimated to take place in the 2nd quarter of 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to solicit and select a firm to provide professional engineering design and inspection services: Develop plans and specifications for the construction of bike/pedestrian path extensions. Aid the City with construction inspection. Comanche Bike/Pedestrian Path Extension Design bike/pedestrian path along Comanche St. from 1st Ave. to Ave. P. Route path through Jean Russel Park. Design appropriate street crossing safety improvements and signage. Design drainage improvements and road widening along Comanche St. from Fairway Dr. to Ave. P. Help the City acquire right-of-way and/or sidewalk easements where necessary. Follow KDOTs design and construction schedule requirements for Transportation Alternate grants. South DodgeBike/Pedestrian Path Extension Design bike/pedestrian path along S. 2nd Ave and Sunnyside Ave. from Wright Park to Beeson Arboretum. Design bike/pedestrian bridge over the Arkansas Riverbed. Work with the Army Corps of Engineers to acquire all appropriate permits for bridge crossing. Design appropriate street crossing safety improvements and signage. Help the City acquire right-of-way and/or sidewalk easements where necessary.
