Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Canandaigua, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.

This is a NYS public works project and prevailing wages must be paid. Via fax 585-461-8854 Attention: Christel Bathrick or email to fl.purchasing@opwdd.ny.gov ervice-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 0% Disadvantaged Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Contract term: 30 days after completion of project DESCRIPTION: (Interior Painting of Entire Residence). The vendor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work in a professional manner according to scope of work and architectural drawings if supplied. Work is to be started and/or completed within 60 days of award, unless modified below. This is a NYS Public Works project and prevailing wages are to be paid. Refer to attached specification for the following scope of work. Site must be cleaned and all materials secured at the end of each work day. Absolutely no scraps, especially fasteners, are to be left unsecured. Upon completion of project before removal of equipment and scaffolding, contractor is to schedule a quality control and quality assurance inspection with Plant Superintendent. SCOPE OF WORK includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: Complete Interior painting of residence; Walls, Ceilings, Closets, Doors, Base and Trim, etc. 1. Price quote shall include all materials (paint, stain, necessary tools and accessories) and labor. 2. Paint, stain and other finishes must be a SHERWIN WILLIAMS product selected from the DDSO color chart by House Director or Maintenance Supervisor/Designee. The colors chosen for common areas (kitchen, dining, rec rooms, hallways, etc.) must be neutral colors. 3. House accessibility to be determined by House Director. 4. Remove furniture as required and return to place when job is complete. 5. Disconnect/Remove appliances as required and return/re-connect when job is complete. 6. Removal all pictures, outlet and switch covers and return to place when job is complete. 7. Remove all electronics if needed and return/re-connect to place when job is complete. 8. Imperfections (eg: Holes gouges, and dings) on wall and ceiling surfaces shall be filled with a proper spackling compound. Then sanded smooth and primed before a top coat to prevent flashing. 9. Clean and prepare surfaces to be painted per the manufacturer's written instructions for each substrate condition and as specified. The is to include wall paper and sizing removal and spackling of all damaged wall surfaces prior to painting. All surfaces must be sanded after patching to match existing surface to ensure invisible repairs then primed before applying topcoat. 10. Paint used in bathrooms shall include a mold inhibitor. 11. Ceiling paint shall be a flat finish, except in Bathrooms/Kitchens where a semi-gloss finish should be used. 12. Paint used on walls and trim must be a semi-gloss finish. 13. A clear satin low VOC coating to be applied to all-Natural Wood trim and doors if needed. 14. Any stains on ceilings and walls shall be primes, with a satin killing primer to prevent bleed-through of topcoat. 15. All surfaces shall have two (2) coats of paint minimum; three (3) or more if necessary, for complete coverage, same for varnish's if applicable. 16. Apply paints and stains by brush and roller only, per the manufacturer's written instructions. Use primer as recommended by manufacturer. 17. Use drop cloths to cover stationary furniture, flooring, appliances, etc. 18. See attached floor plan for work that needs to be addressed on a room-to-room basis. 19. Sprinkler heads, fire alarm pull stations, smoke detectors, and heat detectors must be free of any paint when the job is complete. 20. Remove and dispose of any empty cans, rags, rubbish, masking and other rubbish materials at the end of each work day. 21. Clean glass and paint spattered surfaces by scraping and washing
