Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Working plans call for the construction of a 2,111,000-square-foot, four-story above grade transportation facility.
Future construction as part of the Ontario Line for Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility (where the vehicles are stored; the Operations Control Centre (where staff control train operations and are connected to TTC and GO Transit systems) and Backup Operations Control Centre. The Ontario Line Maintenance and Storage Facility (OMSF) includes approximately 195,489 square metres and the total GFA of all proposed new buildings is approximately 21,233 square metres. A portion of the site is on the east side of Beth Nealson Drive and will contain employee parking accessed by a driveway bridge over Beth Nealson Drive. Vehicular access to the OMSF is from Millwood Road to the Village Station Road entrance gate. Pedestrian and cycling access to the facility will be provided from Beth Nealson Drive. TIMELINE: Following a fair, open and transparent bidding process contracts have been awarded for the Ontario Line Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) project to Proponent team, Connect 6ix. As of May 2024 the site plan has been submitted to the city of Toronto for approval for the Ontario Line Operations, maintenance and storage facility (OMSF). Plans are complete. Site preparation, demolition and utility relocations are underway with construction of the OMSF began early 2024 pending completion of the design and infrastructure work.
