Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Taunton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

As of August 28, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The award will be to the lowest, responsible, and eligible bidder. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% PERFORMANCE and PAYMENT BOND and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within five (5) days following notification of the acceptance of their Bid. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interests of the OWNER. General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the City of Taunton. The Davol Park Renovation Project area consists of two (2) City-owned properties; a 3.72-acre parcel located on the northerly corner of Oak Street and Oak Avenue, and a 0.42-acre parcel located on Oak Avenue, across from the existing Davol Field. The renovation project involves demolition work, proposed site improvements, as well as tree planting and landscaping improvements. The Project's demolition consists of removal of existing playground structures, basketball court, baseball field, and site fencing, as well as selective tree clearing and grubbing. The project's proposed renovations include installation of approximately 1,950 square yards of 5'-wide bituminous concrete sidewalks, paved parking on Oak Avenue, granite curbing, cement concrete handicap ramps, wooden guardrails, restroom facility construction, concrete pad construction for site benches, seating areas, picnic tables, and game tables, drainage improvements, electrical, water, and sewer service installation, chain link and vinyl fence installation, fine grading, and loam and seed or mulch. Additional site amenities to be constructed include six (6) pickleball courts, three (3) horseshoe fields, two (2) shuffleboard courts, two (2) bocce courts, four (4) cornhole fields, one (1) proposed shade structure seating area, four (4) rubberized-asphalt exercise/ fitness areas, two (2) enclosed pea stone dog park areas, and all other proposed improvements as specified within the Contract Documents and Drawings.
