Renovation of a mixed-use development in Renton, Washington. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Plans call for a 2022 bond for improvements to schools across the district. 2022 Bond projects include: Safety & Security Interior door hardware/lock updates New key system Main entry video intercoms Entryway improvements to provide front door line-of-sight for office staff School Improvements Update seismic and structural systems in older buildings (retrofitting and modification of existing structures to make them more resistant to seismic activity, ground motion, or soil failure, and more ) Improvements and equipment replacement of school Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems Upgrades to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Upgrades to boilers and domestic hot water heaters As of December 5, 2022, the 2022 bond was passed and approved by the voters on November 8, 2022. Per the owner, they have not selected a design team at this time as there will most likely be multiple design teams. There will also most likely be multiple Construction Managers/General Contractors that will be selected as well. The owner states that they will be holding consultant interviews for many of the larger bond projects in the winter of 2022 and the spring of 2023. The owner states that the 2022 bond projects will be ongoing from the summer of 2024 through 2029.
