The first goal is to solicit statements of interest and capability from sources that can provide security systems maintenance services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Facility Security Team (FST). The second goal is to provide inform the FAA's requirements definition and acquisition approach in order to improve Contractor performance and program efficiency without unreasonably increasing cost. The FAA intends to establish a standalone contract to provide security systems maintenance services. 1.0 Background The FAA has been given the responsibility to carry out safety programs and is responsible for providing the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world. The FAA's responsibilities include: A. Regulating civil aviation to promote safety; B. Encouraging and developing civil aeronautics, including new aviation technology; C. Developing and operating a system of air traffic control and navigation for both civil and military aircraft; D. Developing and carrying out programs to control aircraft noise and other environmental effects of civil aviation The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is two-fold.
