The project generally consists of: The replacement of approximately 1,000 (base bid) and up to an additional 1,000 (all additive alternates #1-#10) decaying timber ties; the regulating and dressing of existing ballast of approximately 16,000 TF (additive alternate #11) of track in areas of need indicated on the exhibits; Replace thirteen 39' sticks of 115# rail (base bid); replacement of 142 various size switch ties at 9 locations indicated in the exhibits (base bid). This work also includes but is not limited to removal and disposal of old ties, removal and reuse of existing tie plates, spikes, anchors and other items of work as required by the Contract Documents. Work shall be completed along the mainline track at Port Bienville Industrial Park between MP 4.5 and 7.0. The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. The Contractor will commence the work required by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS within 10 calendar days after the date of the NOTICE TO PROCEED and Final Completion of the project will be obtained within 90 consecutive calendar days of the NOTICE TO PROCEED date unless the period for completion is extended otherwise by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. The Contractor shall be liable for the continued assessment of liquidated damages at $1,000.00 for each calendar day that the Contractor is in default in attaining Final Completion within the time stipulated as provided herein. Contractors submitting a written sealed bid must write their current Mississippi Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing their Bid as well as on their Bid.
