Est. Completion Date: March 31, 2023 Construction will involve site preparation and construction of drinking water Test Well #1 for the Campbell Water Utility. The well will be located in Wardwell Park, Town of Campbell, on French Island, La Crosse County, Wisconsin. The work consists of drilling and testing a single formation, open borehole, partially cased well completed in the Mt. Simon aquifer. The Contractor must furnish all equipment and materials as necessary for construction and testing of the Test Well. This includes construction of any temporary access road or drill rig pad required to access this site and perform the drilling procedure. The surface elevation of the well site is approximately 652 feet. An estimated 140 feet of unconsolidated sand overlays sandstone. The Mt. Simon sandstone formation is expected to be encountered first as the Eau Claire formation is usually absent in the Mississippi River Valley. The sandstone will overlay bedrock at approximately 250 feet, elevation 402'. The static water level is encountered at 20-22 ft., an elevation of approximately 630 feet. The Owner has the right to stop construction of the well at any time or order the construction of another well nearby at the same unit prices. However, if the well is abandoned because of faulty construction, non-compliance with the specifications, inability of the Contractor to penetrate to the required depth, or any fault of the Contractor, no payment will be made for the abandoned well.
