RFP for Professional Engineering Services to explore Alternative Solutions for Building Code compliance for Garden Suites, Multi-Tenant Housing, Temporary Event Spaces and Outdoor Patios for Toronto Building. The full scope of work and deliverables is available in the Sourcing Event through SAP Ariba. Initial Term: Six (6) months from the date of award, with an option in favour of the City to extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions for an additional term of up to two (2) months. The Successful Proponent must complete the required tasks and deliverables within the first Six (6) to Eight (8) weeks of the date of award as outlined in Part 3 of the RFP. The four Building Types/ include: I. Garden Suites: The City defines a Garden Suite as, " an additional selfcontained living accommodation, usually located in the rear yard, but not on a public lane, and is separate or detached from the main house"; II. Multi-Tenant Housing: A multi-tenant house, commonly known as a rooming house, is where four or more people rent rooms and share a kitchen and/or washroom; III. Flexible Event Spaces: Flexible Event Spaces are buildings used to hold music and entertainment events in non-traditional settings on a temporary basis. They include both buildings installed for such events on a temporary basis and existing buildings which are temporarily converted to hold such events; and IV.Tents and Enclosed Patios: Tents and Enclosed Patios refer to outdoor patios installed in connection with bars, restaurants and other eateries adjacent to, within, or partially within the City's right-of-way to create more functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces for patrons. Suppliers must be registered with and be a member in good standing of Professional Engineers of Ontario and must submit evidence of registration.
