Your questions should be directed to: Andy Darlak Water Operations Manager ADarlak@TorranceCA.Gov Water services for the City of Torrance ("City") are primarily provided by Torrance Municipal Water ("TMW"), which is a municipality-owned water utility and a founding member of the Metropolitan Water District ("MWD"). TMW's water service area is approximately 10,350 acres and comprises about 78 percent of the land within city limits. Torrance Municipal Water currently provides high quality water services to approximately 105,000 residents and 1,800 business customers, which represent nearly 72 percent of the city's population of approximately 146,000. Torrance Municipal Water's customer base consists of residential, commercial, and industrial water users served through approximately 26,000 individual metered service connections, including approximately 20 accounts outside the city. The accounts are comprised of 88 percent residential (single and multi-family) customers, 7 percent commercial/institutional accounts, 1 percent industrial and 4 percent for other customers. Recycled water is used by approximately 35 customers in the municipal service area, of which approximately 95 percent is used by the Torrance Refining Company. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
