Littleton Public Schools is seeking proposals from firms with broad subject matter expertise and experience in K-12 school safety and security to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the District Safety & Security programs and practices. The types of school-level assessments that the District has used in previous years includes but is not limited to: Crisis communication systems, access Control systems, procedures and practices, perimeter protection measures, front entry/security vestibule designs, general security measures and practices, Intrusion detection systems, visitor management systems, common safety hazards, emergency maps and routes, emergency drills and exercises, staff development, emergency plan distribution and training, documentation of safety efforts. The types of district level assessments that District office has used includes but is not limited to: Preparedness for emergency situations, public safety response capabilities in the district, emergency communication capabilities, school resource/security staffing and deployment during school hours and after school hours, student threat assessment approaches, suicide prevention and screening strategies, student disciplinary approaches, student supervision policies, procedures and practices, anonymous threat assessment approaches, student safety, security and emergency preparedness measures for school bus fleet operations. Deliverables will include a detailed written summary of assessment activities, findings, and analysis drawing from leading K-12 school safety, security and emergency management along with Federal and State regulations and guidance. A full gap analysis including remedial recommendations presented in a matrix format considering factors such as degree of risk, financial impact, practicality and the mission and goals of Littleton Public Schools. Report must be available in written and electronic format to the District. An optional in person electronic presentation may be required (i.e. PowerPoint or similar).
