All bids will be considered. valid until 120 days after the opening date, although not accepted. or rejected. Each bid shall contain the full name and address of each person or company interested in the same and shall be accompanied by a per- sonal bond, in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of 100% of one year of the bid, or by a certified check, cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit for ten percent (10%) of one year of the bid, made payable to the City of Athens, Ohio, conditioned that if a bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into within (10) ten days after notice of acceptance. Anticipated no- tice of acceptance will be March 31st, 2023. A performance bond of the one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of one year of the contract with a satisfactory surety company will be required for the performance of the contract. All bids must be clearly marked on the exterior with the words "Municipal Solid Waste and Recycling Collection".The City of Athens reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities as may be in its best interest.
