Hard Construction contractors (Demolition, Concrete, Masonry, Steel, General Trades, Flooring, Painting, Mechanical, and Electrical services) sought for new entry and office renovations at Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary-Middle School. All contractors bidding on work must be bondable and must include the cost for furnishing a Co-Obligee Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Co-Obligee Performance Bond, as an add to their base bid. The required bonding forms have been included as Attachment H to this project manual. Bid Categories Included: WC 01B Demolition WC 05B Concrete WC 11B Masonry WC 12B Steel WC 20B General Trades WC 23B Flooring WC 24B Painting WC 27B Mechanical WC 28B Electrical All questions are to be directed to the Construction Manager. No direct contact with the Owner or Architect is requested. All questions must be in writing and submitted via electronically, no later than November 29, 2022, at 3:00pm. Each Proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond made payable to Brinker-Christman, a Joint Venture in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid as a bid security. If bidders do not wish to furnish a bid bond, bid security may also be submitted in the form of certified check, cashiers' check, or money order. The Bid Security of Bidders under consideration will be returned immediately after award of contracts. The amount of the guarantee shall be forfeited to Brinker-Christman, a Joint Venture if the successful Bidder fails to enter into a contract and furnish required bonds and insurance within 30 days after award of contracts. All proposals submitted shall remain valid for a period of ninety (90) days after the bid date. Brinker-Christman, a Joint Venture and Detroit Public Schools Community District reserve the right to waive any irregularities, reject any or all proposals, or accept any proposal, which, in their opinion, will serve their best interest. Post bid interviews will be scheduled for December 7, 2022, through December 9, 2022. Bidders must have availability for an interview during this time.
