Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Whittier, California. Completed plans call for the addition of a playground / park / athletic field; for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; playground / park / athletic field; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The work to be performed at the Whittier Senior Center (13225 Walnut Street, Whittier, CA 90602) includes but is not limited to: o Complete ADA required work - Two restrooms and one single accommodation restroom o ADA Required Site work o New Mansard Roofing, excluding flat areas of roof housing the HVAC o Cosmetic upgrades o New entry, awnings, and kitchen o Interior floor finishes and paint o Parking lot resurfacing o Landscape o Enclosure of Courtyard o HVAC alterations for enclosed courtyard o Storage Room o New cabinetry and counters o New partition walls o New ceilings o New interior lighting o Fire sprinklers o New roofing at flat roofs o New HVAC system o Sealing and restriping of north parking area QUESTIONS OR REQUESTED CLARIFICATIONS SHALL BE MADE IN WRITING VIA EMAIL TO PUBWKS@CITYOFWHITTIER ORG ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 23, 2022, AT 5:00 P.M. NO VERBAL REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. The Contractor shall commence ordering all materials within ten (10) days after notification that the contract has been executed and shall be completed within One Hundred Sixty-three (163) working days after date set forth to start work in the Notice to Proceed. Each bid shall be made on the proposal form furnished by the City herewith and shall be in accordance with the plans, specifications and other contract documents and shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bidders' bond, payable to the City of Whittier in a sum not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract for the work, the full amount of such guarantee to be forfeited to the City should said bidder fail to enter into said contract. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a Labor and Material Bond in an amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bonds to be secured from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of California, and subject to the approval of the City Engineer and City Attorney. The Contractor will also be required to furnish a certificate that he/she carries compensation insurance covering his/her employees upon work to be done under this contract, which may be entered into between him/her and the City of Whittier for the construction of said work.
