All inquiries regarding the RFP should be directed to James Scanlin at james.scanlin@newark.org The City is seeking a qualified firm to conduct Recycling and Waste Reduction outreach to K-6th grade students throughout the City of Newark. The City of Newark ("the City") is seeking a qualified environmental education organization (Consultant) to provide outreach and education to promote waste reduction, recycling and composting to K-6th grade students at up to ten schools within the city of Newark. It is anticipated that the outreach would be conducted through school assemblies, in-class presentations, or online presentations. The City has budgeted $15,000 per year for this program. The selected organization will work under the general direction of the Environmental Services Manager. Selection will be at the sole discretion of the City. No work is guaranteed. The selected Consultant will enter into a Contractual Services Agreement which will specify the billing rates, personnel to be assigned, and other terms. Work will be authorized by Task Orders issued by the City. Selected Consultant may be asked to submit proposals which include a scope and fee for future projects prior to issuance of a Task Order. Certain projects, if assigned, shall be performed pursuant to a 'not-to-exceed' amount. For these projects, Consultant shall prepare a detailed scope of work, payment schedule and schedule of deliverables for review and approval by the City. The City is requesting services for a minimum term ending on June 30, 2025, thereafter renewable for two additional one (1) year periods upon mutual consent of the City and Consultant. Approximately 60 days prior to the end of each agreement period, a meeting may be held between the consultant(s) and City of Newark staff to conduct a performance review, revise the scope and/or language of the agreement, and submit the consultants' most current rate schedules. Extensions to the term of the agreement, as allowed, will be subject to review and approval of the Public Works Director, City Manager and/or City Council. The scope of servicesincludes: 1) Contactschools to promote the program and encourage participation; 2) Conduct outreach; and 3) Report on number of programs conducted and number of students participating. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
