Renovation of a fire / police facility in Alexandria, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to complete the work as described and required by this ITB, the Construction Drawings, and the Alexandria Fire Station - Bay Door Improvements Sequence of Operations Review by Scovis, PLLC, dated June 20, 2019 and other attachments. Collectively, these documents comprise the Contract Documents. In addition, the project must be in accordance with all principal and civic regulations as noted elsewhere in this ITB and work must be satisfactory to the City. The work shall be performed in accordance with the Contract Documents. It shall be the obligation of the Contractor to obtain clarification from the City concerning any questions about or conflicts in the specifications, drawings and construction notes in a timely way so as not to delay the progress of the work. The Contract Documents set forth the minimum work estimated by the City and the Contractor to be necessary to complete the work. It shall be the Contractors responsibility, at solely the Contractors cost, to provide sufficient services to fulfill the purposes of the work. Nothing in the Contract Documents shall be construed to limit the Contractors responsibility to manage the details and execution of its work. Cut-off for questions shall be January 3, 2024 at 4:00 pm, prevailing local time. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashiers check or a certified check of the bidder payable to the City or by a certified copy of the bid bond from a surety company acceptable to the City and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia, properly executed in favor of the City for not less than five (5) percent of the amount representing the bid or sum total noted The successful bidder shall be required to deliver to the City a performance bond and a payment bond, properly executed by a surety company acceptable to the City and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the respective Contract amount. Bidder must possess Virginia Class A Contractors license. Upon award, the Contractor must obtain a valid City of Alexandria Business License since the Contractor will be responsible for pulling a permit. Contractors License: In accordance with Section 54.1-1103 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the Contractor and each subcontractor shall have a valid Virginia contractors license. The Virginia contractors registration number for each subcontractor shall be provided on the list of subcontracts. Alexandria Business Licenses: In accordance with Chapter 1, Title 9, of the Code of the City of Alexandria, the following shall possess a current City business license: 1. Contractor; 2. All subcontractors, sub-subcontractors and vendors at any tier with a definite place of business in the City; and ITB 861 20 3. All subcontractors, sub-subcontractors and vendors at any tier, without a definite place of business in the City, the gross receipts of which, from business conducted in the City, are expected to exceed $25,000 in any calendar year.
